Chittimuthyalu
Rice (boasting proudly):
"Ahey, Basmathi, my dear cousin,
Sorry to call you out, but I can't keep quiet anymore. You might be my family,
but let’s face it — you’re the most selfish grain on this planet. Today,
I’m exposing you for who you really are.
You’re
long. You’re slim. You’re elegant. But guess what? You’re also artificially
inflated! The moment someone eats you, they end up with a belly
that's not so slim anymore. Why, you ask? As, you don’t even have the natural
brain or the growth pattern to understand why, Let me enlighten you,
dear Basmathi — you’re not from the earth, you’re hybridized, chemically
grown, and a high-glycemic disaster!
You
thought you had it all, huh? All that fragrance that fills up the room
and makes everyone think you're the best thing since sliced bread. But guess
what? You’re just a pretty face with no substance. I mean, sure, you’ve
got the looks, the delicate grains, but where’s the real taste?
Let
me introduce myself, your granny— Chittimuthyalu Rice, the true king of
all aromatic rices. Unlike you, I’m not just some trendy hybrid rice, sbut short grain indigenous aromatic rice .
I’ve been around for over a thousand years, growing naturally in harmony with
the land. My siblings — like Javaphool, Gobindbhog, and Seeraga
Samba — we’re the real deal.
I
don’t need artificial fertilizers to grow strong and beautiful. I don’t need
chemicals to maintain my fragrance. My flavor and my aroma are straight from
the earth, the sun, and the slow, steady growth that has
been my heritage for centuries. While you, dear Basmathi, were genetically
modified to grow faster and easier, I was taking my sweet time,
building up natural nutrients and the authentic, rich fragrance that
fills the air when I’m cooked.
Let’s
talk about your flavor, shall we? You think you’re a star because you’ve got a
smell, but the taste... where's the taste? You need a heap of spices
and masalas just to make you palatable, don’t you? You’re a flavorless
base that can’t stand alone. Not like me. I stand strong. I don’t need a
bunch of extra flavor to show off. When I’m cooked, my flavor is bold, earthy,
and full of nutrition.
And
here’s the thing: Your glycemic index? Well, let’s just say it’s a sugar-spiking
catastrophe. You were rushed through, genetically engineered to grow
quickly, and now you’re spiking people’s blood glucose levels with your
rapid digestion. But me? I’m the slow-food champion. The one
that’s been grown the right way, naturally. I’m low-GI, I won’t send
your sugar levels skyrocketing. When they eat me, they feel good —
balanced and nourished.
You’ve
had your moment in the spotlight, Basmathi. But now it’s time for the world to
remember who the real rice is. It's not the quick, hybrid,
chemical-filled kind. It’s me — Chittimutyalu. I bring true fragrance, I
bring true taste, and I bring true nourishment.
So go
ahead, keep trying to be the “fancy rice” with your fluff and empty
fragrance. But I’ll be over here, in the fields, growing naturally, taking my
time, and bringing real flavor and goodness to the table. Chittimuthyalu rice
is on the rise.
I’m taking
over the biryani world — one plate at a time. The future belongs to me."
